With a string of highly applauded records and his regular Rinse FM and later NTS breakfast shows, SCRATCHCLART aka Scratcha DVA has been making a name for himself on the UK Funky circuit and far beyond. Formerly involved as a day one Grime producer with the Aftershock crew (alongside Terror Danjah and a few others), Scratcha has turned his focus on his solo productions the years after, taking UK Funky into deeper and rather more abstract territories. A purveyor of superbly crafted releases on Kode9′s Hyperdub label as well his very own DVA imprint, he has worked with the likes of Cooly G, Roska, Addison Groove and the Night Slugs posse shaping the now legendary „post-dubstep“ era. In recent years incorporating African genres like Quom, with bass-heavy riddims navigating between his inimitable organic swing, melodic dubstep fusions, playful grooves, and technoid sounds, Scratcha’s definitely one of the most forward thinking and unique minds in the bass game these days.
