Der Ausgangspunkt dieses Films ist eine vierstündige Versammlung in Madrid im Oktober 2019, zu der sich unterschiedliche Gruppen gefunden hatten, um eine Aktion des zivilen Ungehorsams vorzubereiten. Die Gruppen – Ecologistas en Acción, Alternativa Antimilitarista MOC, Legal Sol, Extinction Rebellion, Climacció, Fridays for Future und Greenpeace – sind Teil der Plattform By 2020 We Rise up, die in ganz Europa eine Klimarebellion anfachen will. Im Zuge der Diskussion erfährt man, dass das Netzwerk in Komitees (Arbeitsgruppen) gegliedert ist, die jeweils spezielle Aufgaben übernehmen: Kommunikation, Training, Verpflegung, Logistik, Aktionsplanung, Strategie, Rechtshilfe, Dialog mit der Polizei, Forderungen, Care und Finanzen. Da der Staat die Teilnehmer_innen an der Versammlung als Organisator:innen einer illegalen oder nicht genehmigten Demonstration verfolgen könnte, sind die Gesichter aller Anwesenden verpixelt, um ihre Identität zu verschleiern. Ihre Anonymität wird gewahrt, um sie vor Repression zu schützen. Gleichzeitig bekommt der Film durch die Verpixelung seine einzigartige visuelle Form.

Ressler hatte Überblickseinzelausstellungen im Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb; Neuer Berliner Kunstverein; MNAC – National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bukarest; SALT Galata, Istanbul; Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporaneo, Sevilla. Er nahm an über 400 Gruppen- ausstellungen teil, wie im Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid; Centre Pompidou, Paris und an den Biennalen in Taipeh, Lyon, Gyumri, Venedig, Athen, Quebec, Jeju, Kiew und an der Documenta 14, Kassel, 2017.

The starting point of this film is a four-hour meeting in Madrid in October 2019, where different groups had come together to prepare a civil disobedience action. The groups – Ecologistas en Acción, Alternativa Antimilitarista MOC, Legal Sol, Extinction Rebellion, Climacció, Fridays for Future and Greenpeace – are part of the By 2020 We Rise up platform, which aims to ignite a climate rebellion across Europe. During the discussion, we learn that the network is divided into committees (working groups), each with specific tasks: Communication, Training, Catering, Logistics, Action Planning, Strategy, Legal Aid, Dialogue with the Police, Demands, Care, and Finance. Since the state could prosecute participants in the gathering as organizers of an illegal or unauthorized demonstration, the faces of all present are pixelated to conceal their identities. Their anonymity is preserved to protect them from repression. At the same time, the pixelation gives the film its unique visual form.
