Sheer Terror are one of New York City’s most notorious hardcore punk bands and arguably the genre's most unlikely cult heroes. Formed in 1984, they pioneered a heavy, metal-infused hardcore sound long before "crossover" became a standard term. Lauded for their brutal honesty and condemned for the exact same reason, the band pairs lyrically poetic, heartbreak-driven narratives with punishing musical aggression. Driven by the unapologetic, razor-sharp wit of legendary frontman Rev. Paul Bearer, Sheer Terror continues to stand completely apart from the pack, delivering real, unfiltered, and uncompromising street-level punk
